Our Favorite Everyday Dog Products

The fun stuff gets the attention. The new toy, the cute bandana, the holiday sweater nobody asked for. But the things that make the biggest difference are the boring ones you grab every single day.
This is our everyday list. Not flashy, just used constantly.
On the walk
A plain six-foot leash
Nothing fancy. A sturdy leash with a comfortable handle that you'll grab twice a day for years.
A collar that stays on
Dobermans have slim heads, which can make it easy for a regular flat collar to slip off. A martingale collar tightens slightly when pulled so it's harder to back out of.
A front-clip harness
For dogs who pull, a harness that clips at the chest can make pulling less rewarding. Measure before ordering.
A reflective vest
A black and tan dog after sunset is close to invisible. A bright vest fixes that for early mornings and late evenings.
The stuff that comes along
Poop bags, a holder clipped to the leash, and something for muddy paws on the way back in.
At mealtime
A slow-feeder bowl for the dogs who inhale, a raised feeder to keep bowls in one place, and an airtight container that holds a whole bag. We cover the multi-dog version of this in life with three dogs.
At bedtime
A big, supportive bed sized for a dog with long legs. And a plush blanket for the nights he decides the bed isn't good enough.
Grooming
A rubber brush for weekly hair removal, a gentle shampoo for bath day, and a nail grinder for keeping nails short. Short sessions with plenty of treats make both easier.
Training basics
A bag of small, soft training treats lives in every jacket pocket in our house. Training doesn't stop after puppyhood, and having treats on hand means you can reward the good stuff when it happens.
The everyday list, summed up
Leash, collar, harness, bowls, a good bed, grooming tools, and treats. Get those right and the rest is extra. See everything in one place in Everyday Essentials, or browse the full shop.
